For several years Apple has ruled the smartphone world with the iPhone. However, Samsung has become a serious contender to Apple, especially with their latest model Galaxy S3. The Galaxy S3 has several features that are greater than that of the iPhone 4S (such as the screen size), however, with the iPhone 5 being released on the 21st of September 2012, Samsung may need to worry again as the iPhone has a significant list of upgrades.
Apple’s new iPhone boasts a lot of improvements over the previous model. It has a larger screen than the iPhone S4, a greater pixel density than the Galaxy S3, is lighter in weight than the S3, and several other features .
However, the iPhone 5 still has some shortcomings when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S3, and these include the camera as the iPhone 5 has a 1.2 megapixel camera compared to the Galaxy S3’s 1.9 megapixel. Also, the iPhone still does not support video out (the Galaxy S3 supports video output using HDMI via an adapter), and the Galaxy S3 boasts a 790 hour standby time, compared to the iPhone 5’s 225 hour standby time.
Which phone is better?
Phone specifications are not the only variable that people use in their decisions for a smartphone. The operating system is also immensely important to consider as it dictates the usability of the phone. The Samsung Galaxy S3 supports the Android operating system (shipped with version Ice Cream Sandwich) which is widely known as being more customizable than iOS. But this may not be enough to sway users due to Apple’s ecosystem. The ‘App Store’ on iOS is an extremely popular environment for users to download apps for their iPhones and iPads. It is extremely well created and is virtually bug free. Many users may opt to buy a new iPhone or stay with Apple products in general due to the fact that the system is so friendly and easy to use.
mSpy smartphone monitoring software is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S3, and the developers are working on the compatibility with iPhone 5. Ultimately, while each smartphone has their benefits, Apple’s winning formula of a fast, feature filled smartphone, coupled with a fantastic operating system and community (including the sheer number of apps in the App Store) will most likely have them in the number one spot.
