Looking for Comprehensive WebWatcher Reviews to Evaluate the App?

WebWatcher Reviews

The Internet is a fantastic tool for learning and opening new horizons. It is the main reason why kids are so attached to it. However, the use of instant messengers, private chat rooms, and social media platforms can lead to troubles such as cyberbullying, sexting, inappropriate content, and exposure to online predators. So, as a parent, you need to have a clue of what your kid does online.

One of the best options to monitor your kid’s Internet activity is installing a parental control app, such as WebWatcher or mSpy, on their device. However, it can be pretty hard to make a choice. That’s where user reviews come in.

On their website, WebWatcher claims they have an excellent rating of 4 stars on PCMAG. However, we couldn’t find any confirmation of that. What’s more, users of Trustpilot have rated the app as high as 3.4. stars. WebWatcher also shares a video review on its main page by Shark Tank, which describes the app’s main advantages. The only concern here is that the video was uploaded on YouTube back in 2016, so it’s not exactly current.

So, is Webwatcher still relevant as a parental control app in 2021? Or, maybe, it’s time to search for an alternative? If you want to try another monitoring app, we recommend you installing mSpy. But if you want to know what WebWatcher is up to, just read this review.

What is WebWatcher?

WebWatcher is one of the popular parental control apps for monitoring kids’ activity online. It helps to protect kids from befriending predators on the Internet. The app gathers the data from a target device and displays it on a secure web-based account. You can access it remotely from almost any device operating on Android and iOS. The app allows users to monitor text messages, call logs, photos, web browser history, and GPS location.

WebWatcher’s customer service includes assistance via email, phone, and chat. However, email support doesn’t seem convenient, as you need to send a request via the contact form on their website.

Main WebWatcher Features

WebWatcher app for iOS and Android makes it possible to track:

  • Text messages: monitor all sent and received text messages
  • Web history: view the search history and visited websites
  • GPS: view visited locations
  • Kik: read incoming text messages
  • Tinder: get notifications about inbound messages
  • WhatsApp: view incoming messages
  • Viber: read incoming messages on iOS and Android
  • Apps: view all apps installed on the target phone
  • Call history: see all incoming, outgoing, and missed calls
  • Photos: view taken and saved images

How Does WebWatcher Work?

To start using WebWatcher on Android, you need to complete three easy steps:

  1. Sign up – Choose the required operating system and purchase the subscription that suits your needs best.
  2. Download the app – To start monitoring a target device, you need to install the app on it.
  3. Start tracking remotely – Go to the WebWatcher login page and access your account. All the activities from the monitoring device will be transferred to your WebWatcher online account.

If you want to use WebWatcher on iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Log in – Open the WebWatcher login page and enter the Apple ID and Password of the device you wish to monitor. Remember to disable iCloud backup and enable Two Factor Authentication on it.
  2. Monitor Activity – When a target device backs up data to iCloud, the target phone activities will be recorded and transferred to your account.
  3. Start tracking remotely – Use the WebWatcher mobile login to monitor all the recorded data, including texts, photos, websites, calls, instant messengers, etc.

Does WebWatcher Really Work on All Devices?

WebWatcher is compatible with most operating systems and applications. However, you need to double-check the compatibility before buying the app.

Microsoft Windows

WebWatcher is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows7, Windows8, Windows8.1, and Windows 10.

Android

If you need to monitor an Android device, make sure your target device is operating on Android 2.1 and above.

Mac OS

With WebWatcher, you can track Mac OS 10.8 – 10.15 devices, such as Mac OS X Mountain Lion and the latest models.

iPhone/iPad

WebWatcher is compatible with iOS 6.0 and above. Functionality requires a PC or Mac on the same Wi-Fi network as a monitored iPhone.

Additionally, WebWatcher is compatible with all Chromebooks, such as HP, Asus, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Samsung, and Google.

Can WebWatcher be Detected on Android or iOS?

WebWatcher is a monitoring app designed to track your kid’s phone secretly. That’s why it’s pretty hard to detect it on a target device. There is no system tray icon or another shortcut that can help to detect the app on Android. And it’s even harder to identify it on iOS devices, as you install it remotely by using iCloud credentials.

How Much Does WebWatcher Cost per Month?

WebWatcher offers three types of subscriptions:

  • 1 Month – $39.95
  • 3 Months – $59.95
  • 12 Months – $129.95

To get detailed information about subscriptions, go to https://login.webwatcher.com/account/signup3 and click “Try risk-free”. Note that you need to sign up before you can choose a package. If any discounts or promotions are available, the support center will notify you about them via email.

If you want to test WebWatcher before buying a subscription, activate the free trial available for seven days. If you try the app and don’t like it, remember to cancel the subscription. Otherwise, the system will charge you.

WebWatcher vs mSpy

After reading the WebWatcher review and comparing it to other apps, you may conclude that WebWatcher is pretty limited in functionality. It offers a basic bunch of features that are not enough for comprehensive monitoring. What’s more, it is expensive as it doesn’t have any packages to monitor two or more devices simultaneously.

If you want to have a full picture of your kid’s digital life, consider looking for a more diverse app, such as mSpy. Our parental control app is one of the leading monitoring solutions for smartphones that has an impressive set of features.

With mSpy, you can do the following:

  • Read sent, received, and deleted text messages
  • Monitor all incoming and outgoing calls
  • Block unwanted contacts
  • View real-time location, set safe and dangerous zones, and get a notification when your kid breaches them
  • Monitor instant messengers (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Hangouts, Viber, Telegram, and Tinder)
  • Monitor WhatsApp photos, videos, and audio recordings
  • Read Instagram direct messages
  • Moderate Internet usage, view visited sites, and block inappropriate ones
  • View saved bookmarks
  • View the list of installed apps and block them if needed
  • Read iMessages on iOS
  • Read all sent and received emails
  • Block target device if it is lost or stolen
  • View Wi-Fi hotspots and block unsafe networks
  • Get keyword alerts and view every keystroke on a target device

Conclusion

As you see, the mSpy parental control app has a broader set of features that can satisfy the most demanding customers’ needs. With mSpy, you can stay on the top of your kid’s smartphone activities and prevent them from interacting with cyberbullies, online predators, and scammers. • Be mindful of their “risk-free” trial – despite the product not working as advertising there was zero flexibility surrounding a refund. Beware!

    • Agreed. Have been working with technicians for a week to get it functional and they won’t even entertain the notion of a refund.

  • Buyer Beware about WebWatcher– Deceiving Sales & Outright Horrible Overall Service

I wanted to use the service for iPhone monitoring. The website indicates that it supports iPhones. To start a free trial you have to pay up front for the service that will continue after the trial. I had no problem doing that as I was planning to use it. I paid $129 for the full year. Once I made a payment a message indicated that I also have to install the software on my computer. The problem is that the software is only good for Windows or Mac based systems. That’s not what I have. I requested a refund, but they would not do it. They said that instructions do say that you have to have a PC or Mac to install the software which I do have. I have a personal computer and I have a USB connection to do that, but it’s the system that is not compatible. In their fine print, which is in the refund policy, it says that if you can’t install it you will still be charged.

The “Risk Free Trial” period states that if their customer support cannot resolve a “substantial issue” then a full refund will be issued. This is a substantial issue, but they will not provide a refund. “Risk Free Trial” term as almost all people understand it, in this case is a LIE. There is no trial period. Once you pay there is basically no way of getting out of the software.

So the company basically stole $129 of my money even though I couldn’t even use it for 5 minutes, and their “great” customer support that they talk about is to not refund the money when a customer never even used this software.
The company is providing a false idea that you can try the software for free and is unethical. Don’t use this or any other sofware that they offer.

    • Dear Piotr,
We are very sorry to hear about your dissatisfying experience with WebWatcher. Unfortunately, there are many scam companies nowadays, which makes difficult for users to choose the reliable monitoring software.
If you are still looking for alternatives, we recommend trying out mSpy. Our Customer Support representatives will answer all your questions regarding our 7-day free trial and help to set up the mSpy app for iPhone monitoring.

  • WebWatcher is a scam of a company! It is not risk-free – they charge you immediately and you will not get your money back despite poor software and following all their “rules” for refund. Deceitful, misleading marketing. The software does not work as advertised. Buyer beware – you will lose your money!

  • This so called download does not do what is says it will do. I cancelled within the first 24 hours of download and the company refused to refund my money. Their “free trial” is a gimmick to take your money. The program did not do what it claimed it would and when I asked for a refund of my $39.95 payment for 3 months the company said they would only refund my money if the program did not work. It did not work, they will not refund my money and I paid $39.95 for 3 months for something I am not using, nor will use. A RIP OFF! DO NOT PURCHASE!

  • This app was a total scam. I canceled with in the 7 days and submitted my refund claim. It said I would receive an email with a claim number but I never got it. It locked me out of the site till my seven days where up then I was told they never received anything and I would not get a refund. I am glad I took screen shots of the cancelation and refund request. I even have one of the site when it locked me out. I am not the only one this has happened to. Looks like a class action lawsuit is in their future.

  • I hope you are reading these reviews before buying. Don’t waste your money on webwatcher, there are better apps available. Risk free is a lie, customer service is poor and they don’t give refunds.

  • I had the web watcher they claim it to be invisible to the user not true it came right of on her screen feeds telling her it was running. Then she can also turn it off right in the controls it won’t let her delete it but she can turn it off very disappointed.
They also told WW would record messages done under google and it did not allot of hype and you pay dearly fir screen shots that you can not keep or down load

  • Webwatcher worked pretty good on an Android device for me, but is ABSOLUTELY horrendous for iPhones! Completely useless and not user friendly at ALL (this all coming from an IT guy). My recommendation, DO NOT BUY Webwatcher!!!

  • I checked into webwatcher, I didn’t have the right set-up and so I canceled it but they have not replaced my money and I can’t get ahold of them anywhere. They charged me for webwatcher and spy. How can I get ahold of them with the phone number

  • Ridiculous. Couldnt get it to load and of course there is a “no refund” policy unless the progran malfunctions. Nice little racket.

  • Please be careful and read and understand how this app works. App doesn’t generate automatic reports. Have to manually login to desktop and have phone in person to get the reports and once payment has been made there is NO refund. IT IS A SCAM.

  • Run from this company. They are completely dishonest. I paid for a monthly subscription, believing that it would be “discreet”, but then discovered in the set up process that I would have to physically plug in my daughter’s phone to my computer, thus removing any discretion in the process. I decided that I didn’t want to start WWIII so I tried to cancel immediately (within hours of purchase)- they basically said that their refund policy doesn’t allow any refunds. I am very disappointed and feel very taken advantage of.

  • NOT DISCRETE! Pop-ups from App alert target that it is capturing everything on their screen!
Worked for about a year and a half then the target device started getting pop-up notifications.

    “Unfortunately wwchildapp has stopped”

    and my personal favorite

“wwchildapp will start capturing everything that’s displayed on your screen.”

This is NOT discrete as the company promised.

I explained the issue to the company, explained how the product failed to be discrete. I even sent them screenshots of the pop-up notifications on the target device. They refused to give me a refund even though it was their product that failed.

They said I had to allow one of their techs to have access to the device in order to “fix” the problem.

What I could not make them understand is that the “problem” is that the app had these pop-up notifications and there is no way to fix that. You can’t unring that bell.

And any idiot on Google can find out what wwchildapp is.

Look it up, it’s pretty much the entire first page.

  • Webwatcher is a scam!!!
    Webwatcher is a scam!!!
Beware in thier automatic renewal, first they deducted me $59 for 3 months, then after 3 months, they automatically deducted me $119 for another 3 months only. I email them and says that im not qualified in their refund, i didnt even use their service.
Please dont subscribe in this shi**y webwatcher!

  • I to purchase and it was definitely not undectitable Popped up wechildapp every time the phone was used. I would not recommend this to ANYONE ITS A BIG MONEY MAKING SCAM

  • Agreed huge money grabbing scam, and then you cant cancel renewal. They threaten you with collection if you put a stop payment on your card. Software would not install, I attempted live chat wanted me to install another program, my pc crashed. I am honestly waiting for a call to blackmail me for money to stop charging me.

  • I purchased it as a free trial and within 10 minutes called them because I have a chrome book and not a PC and told them this and the refused to refund my money and refused to let me out of the free trial! They have charged my account for three months now and I am at my wits end! I am call my bank and telling them to not allow this scam company access to my account. I don’t know what else to do! There has got to be something we can do about this. It’s false advertising!
